Dear Trinity Family—
Trinity's first Sunday morning service is May 24. We are NOT relaunching Sunday School or Wednesday night events at this time. This decision was made after consulting with our leadership team and researching the information posted on the Governor’s website (governor.wv.gov).
We will be following CDC protocols which most of you have become well-aware of. These ‘best practices’ for churches will be posted on our website for easy access (State Guidelines for Religious Entities and Frequently Asked Questions), but here are a few of the critical items we need your help with:
• If you are sick or have a compromised immune system, please stay home and watch the service online. However, if you are sick, please call the church between 10-10:30 at (304) 363-8237 and someone from our leadership team will pray with you.
• If you are 65 and older, the State also urges you to stay home and watch the service online until the situation continues to improve.
• If you are uncomfortable to return at this time, we completely understand and support your decision.
• Wash/sanitize your hands and wear a face mask entering the building.
• Be prepared to practice proper social distancing by being seated every-other-row with your immediate family members only. (No hugging or hand shaking)
Obviously, church is going to look and feel different. Maybe that’s a good thing. Maybe we were too comfortable. Peter Finley Dunne: “Comfort the afflicted; and afflict the comfortable.” For the past several weeks, the Coronavirus has afflicted our comfortable lives and routines. People across our country and around the world have had the opportunity to pause and reflect on the things that really matter. We’ve been reminded of the priority of faith & family, the value of friendship, the blessing of having a roof over our heads and food on our table, and the beauty, uncertainty, and brevity of life.
For us as a church, the message we preach is as valuable as ever: knowing Jesus brings peace nothing else can bring and prepares you to both live and die with confidence. I’m grateful for the way our staff and leadership team have led, loved, and served during this time. I’m privileged to work with great people and lead a great church. We are more committed to Jesus, to each other, to our community, and to our mission than ever.
I’m excited about “The Comeback”. After all, Christ-followers are into ‘comebacks’. The Church exists because of the greatest Comeback in History: when all hope seemed lost, God did the impossible: He raised His Son back to life. If God can raise a dead man to life, He’s ready, willing, and able to help you make a comeback. So, let the comeback begin! See you next Sunday on-line.
Let’s remain prayerful, not give in to fear, and keep our world leaders in prayer, as well as those providing help through medical support. We believe God can do anything, anytime, anywhere, in anybody.
